CT-2 Ceramic Coating

Category: Ceramic Coating

CT-2 Ceramic Coating

Description

CT-2 is a metallic ceramic coating for use on ferrous and non ferrous substrates to optimize thermal management of parts subject to heat. Designed for use in combustion chambers and on piston tops.

Substrate(s)

  • Steel
  • Stainless Steel
  • Aluminum

Temp. Ratings

  • Process Temp: 450°(232°C)
  • Max Temp: 1100°(593°C)
  • Int. Temp: 2000°(1093°C)

Thickness

  • Thickness (mil): 0.5 - 2

Color(s)

  • Metallic

Process

CT-2 metallic ceramic coating is applied as a wet spray process. Different surface preparatory methods appropriate for the substrates will be used before the coating process. Coating thickness is varied to suit the application. Typical coating thickness varies from 0.5 to 2 mil (0.0005 inch to 0.002 inch or 12 to 50 microns). Can be applied to both ferrous and non ferrous substrates.

Advantages

Protective to above 2000°F, Survives bending and flexing, Corrosion resistant to most solvents, fuels, and various chemicals (excluding acids or alkalis), Highly resistant to thermal shock, Can be polished to chrome like finish, Low cure temperature, Resists effects of detonation.

  • Corrosion Protection
  • Heat Resistant

Applications

Recommended applications include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Piston Tops
  • Combustion Chambers
  • Intake and Exhaust Ports
  • Valves
