Calico's ceramic coatings are engineered for thermal management in the most demanding high-temperature environments. Applied to ferrous and non-ferrous substrates, these coatings control heat transfer through reduced absorption, energy reflection, or thermal insulation — protecting components from thermal stress while improving performance consistency and extending service life.

Unlike brittle ceramic bulk materials, Calico's ceramic coatings maintain flexibility — bending and flexing without cracking — while resisting solvents, fuels, and many aggressive chemical environments. Low cure temperatures allow application to pre-assembled systems. Chrome-like polished finish options are available for applications combining thermal performance with aesthetics.

Step 01
Surface Preparation
Cleaning and surface profiling optimized for ceramic adhesion to the specific substrate. Ferrous and non-ferrous metals each receive substrate-appropriate preparation protocols.
Step 02
Wet Spray Application
The ceramic coating is applied by wet spray in controlled passes for even distribution across all surface geometries — including complex shapes, bores, and assemblies.
Step 03
Controlled Cure
Low-temperature oven cure or air-cure processes are selected based on the substrate and application requirements. For oven-cured systems, temperature is carefully ramped to sinter the ceramic binder, achieving full cure and thermal performance.
